Photobucket stopped allowing hotlinking, breaking 15 years worth of images on webpages. I never used photobucket so it took a while before it dawned on me that old bandom picspams and concert reviews might now be gone :__(. Over on twitter some podficcers were discussing image hosting alternatives, and dropbox was suggested; I tried it and it works pretty well! You have to change the provided link from to

Still slowly backreading LJ comms to flesh out the bandom fanlore pages. I'm reading through wolfshirts and hope to get back to weemo_closet soon so I can close out the ten million tabs I've had open so long I have trouble remembering what I was going to do with them.

I'm amused that people have been wondering why there aren't more Black Parade AUs for ten years.

I can't speak for anyone else but The Fall and Rise of the Black Parade is so definitive for me I've never really looked for anything else. It's headcannon for me. Not to say I wouldn't read other BP AUs but I don't feel the lack in the same way as I would for Danger Days.

I've gone through a change of photo hosting 3 times with my own blog over the years (I started with Photobucket for about 6 months but its bandwidth limit led me to change quickly to Imageshack) though luckily when Google closed Picassa they didn't break all the old hotlinks.

I'm sorry to say it didn't even occur to me until I saw your post as to how many resources are probably now gone for good because, like me, people weren't going to try and replace links to a decade's worth of posts :(

I already have issues with some photo hosters. It seems that some icon makers hosting on imgur or photobucket are blocked from a right click download. I have to open the photo in a separate window or sometimes go all the way into the account in order to get a file I can download. So could people actually click through to see images? It's not ideal but better than having no access.
